We start our Delphi One Day Trip to explorethe UNESCO-listed Archaeological Site of Delphi with an expert guide and learn how the city was considered the ‘Center of the World’ in ancient Greece and today one of the most famous archaeological sites of Greece.
Along the way we drive through the fertile plain of Beotia, crossing the towns of Thebes connected with the tragedy of King Oedipus, Levadia and Arachova.
After making a short rest stop outside the town of Levadia, we arrive at Delphi, the center of Ancient World – the “Omphalos” (Navel of Earth) – whose prestige extended far beyond the boundaries of the Hellenic World. On the slopes of Mount Parnassus, in a landscape of unparalleled beauty and majesty, lie the ruins of the Sanctuary of Apollo Pythios.
First stop is the Delphi archeological site – an Unesco World Heritage Site and one of the most important digs in Europe. Avoid and skip the lines of the archaeological site and walk around the evocative ruins with your guide, see famous monuments including the Treasury of the Athenians and the Temple of Apollo.
Second stop is the Delphi Archeological museum, that contains such masterpieces of Ancient Greek sculpture as the bronze Charioteer and the famous athlete Aghias.
As our Delphi One Day Trip comes to an end we return to Athens passing by the picturesque village of Arachova, built on the south slopes of Parnassus, well known for its attractive hand-woven carpets, rugs and quilts, as well as for its wine and cheese (short photo stop).

Delphi is amazing. Getting to site was challenging. Large bus could not come to our hotel to pick us up and was unable to get through the pictures town 20 min from Delphi. We were held off.by police for 40 min. Lunch was dry and confusing. Four people were to share a plate of salad…..very strange. Chicken kebob with French fries not the typically Greek meal we had hoped for.
The worst experience ever! No one contacted me, no refund, they just steel my money for the tour and no emergency contact. No notification at the day before. During the day of the tour all the telephones are turned off, so we can not reach anyone …. Even to ask if I can join the next stop (because I didn’t find the spot and the guide).
I just received the answer in the lunch time “no refund” – very fair )))
No offering to reschedule, no call, nothing! No client orientation
A long day but worth it!
The coach left bang on time and the trip was as described. The sites were fascinating and the museum is excellent. Unfortunately it felt like we didn’t have enough time at any of the places of interest.
It is a very long day, we left at 08.30 and got back at 19.15. There wasn’t a toilet on the coach which may be an issue for some.
Beautiful place doll of history. Dimitri and Thomas we very informative. Would recommend for others.
Alas, no memories; wasted hours waiting for hotel pick up; our trip was confirmed, paid for,
unable to contact service day of trip!
