We start our Athens Walking City Tour in front of the Parliament in Syntagma Square where we will see the Monument of the Unknown Soldier and the change of the famous Guards.

A pleasant walk will follow through the National Garden and on to the Zappeion Hall, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Hadrian’s Arch.

From here you will enter the Plaka area heading to the Acropolis and visit with your guide the Propylaea, the Temple of Nike, and the Parthenon, the monuments that remind us of Glory of Ancient Athens and the Golden Age of Pericles.

We see also in the surrounding the Athenian Agora, the Observatory, the Hill of Democracy (Pnyx), Mars and Philoppapos Hill, the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, and the Theater of Dionysus.

At the end of our Athens Walking City Tour and since you are so close, do not miss the opportunity to visit on your own the New Acropolis Museum.

I took this tour witη our starting point was inside syntagma station by the clock I knew ahead of time that we needed to pay extra for the acropolis it was in the tour description. Our guy was named Costas very nice and patient and answer our questions, our tour was great, he kind of look like Tony Stark from iron man. You have to read the inclusions and non inclusions. Dress and wear comfortable shoes and water in hand. Going up the acropolis hill is a bit rocky.

I feel really bad because I’ve never given a low review before. But I think people need to be aware before hopping on this tour. In the inclusions AND exclusions The Acropolis is listed. In the description it says you will visit the Acropolis with your tour guide then have the option of going to The Acropolis museum after your tour. This is not the case. In order to go into the Acropolis with your guide you have to pay them 20 euro per person the day of (along with your booking price already).
We were not told of this ahead of time and it was very misleading. Our confirmation for booking states “City Tour WITH Acropolis” so we showed our tour guide as we did not have cash prepared and only card due to having no knowledge of this ahead of time. She had our tickets in her hand, said she couldn’t get in touch with the company and demanded 20 dollars per person on the spot. When we were unable to, she left us behind and continued the tour.
So this ticket is actually only to walk up to parliament to watch the changing of the guard (which happens every hour, you can do it yourself), to walk through a tiny portion of the garden, to see the Zeus monument from outside the gate (she didn’t want to waste time going around even though it’s free), and see Hadrians Arch. All could have taken less than an hour and it took two because we would stand around while she talked about where we were from and our job profession instead of telling information on the monuments. You could easily walk all of it yourself, and if you want more information – take a different walking tour than this company.
The guide could have given more knowledge the last hour, but I have no personal knowledge of that. We ended up paying 86 dollars for half of our tour and getting left behind due to the company not letting people know ahead of time they will need cash and that the “City walking tour with Acropolis” is actually just a few things in the city.
I don’t mean to be mean, I just want others to know what they are booking because the description is highly misleading & there is no knowledge they will ask for cash once you meet for the tour to even finish the tour that you already payed for.
