Take our Santorini Volcano Sunset Cruise and ail across Santorini’s beautiful ‘caldera’ (flooded crater) and visit the islands of Nea Kameni and Thirasia on this 6-hour tour. Board a sightseeing boat from the old port, and admire Santorini’s cliffs and as you cruise to Nea Kameni. Enjoy free time to walk around its volcanic crater & swim in the warm springs. Have dinner on board and enjoy the sunset on board.

The Santorini Volcano Sunset cruise starts from the picturesque old port of Santorini or from Athinios port if you book the tour with transfers.

Our first destination will be the famous volcano of Santorini! After 20 minutes sailing, we will reach Nea Kameni’s jetty. Should you are interested to be guided at the volcano, you should pay 5 euro/ per person as an entrance fee.

Then, you will walk to the volcano’s ridge with your guide and he is going to explain you everything about the history and the geology of the volcano. You will stay at the volcanic island for 1.5hr and in the end you will embark again to our boat for the next stop.

Next stop will be the island of Palea Kameni where the famous hot springs are located on the west side. A place that is really popular for its thermal waters. We will stop there for 30min at a distance of 30 meters from the shallow waters of Agios Nicholaos’ beach.

The waters are mixed with mud that they are full of sulfur, iron and other metals coming from the volcano and they are very good for the skin, rheumatism, arthritis and other physical pains.

Important Note : In order to reach Agios Nicholaos’ beach is essential to swim extremely well.

Sailing above the underwater craters from Palea Kameni to Thirasia Island, the boat will anchor close to the island in order to enjoy your dinner. Our experienced staff will prepare everything for you so as to relax and enjoy our Greek tasteful buffet while capturing amazing photos of the Aegean sea.

As our Santorini sunset cruise comes close to the final location is sunset time. Our boat sets sails and the sun dives to the sea in the northernmost part of the island. Our boat will stop very close to Oia village where you will have the chance to watch the warm light of the setting sun under the violet sky before the night falls. This is the most unforgettable experience as the Caldera and the village of Oia will turn into gold colour. Your trip  in this sanctuary of romance is going to be in your memories and your hearts forever!

After departing from your last destination, the Santorini Volcano Sunset cruise will finish at the old port of Fira. As we make our way back to the port, the party begins! Get ready to dance and celebrate the night with our energetic boat party. Our tour escort will teach you how to dance the Syrtaki, a traditional Greek dance made famous in the movie “Zorba the Greek.” Join in the fun and show off your moves as you dance around the boat’s bar. With music filling the air and the lively atmosphere, this is the perfect way to end your Santorini Volcano Sunset Cruise with Dinner. Come aboard and let the festivities begin!

After your disembarkation, you should choose one of the available ways to go back to Fira town.  (or for those that have selected transfers, back to their hotel.)

Old Port of Fira – Ormos Firon (Google Maps) – if you have selected the option without tranfers

This port is only accessible by cable car (which is the most common way as it takes only 3 minutes to go down),  587 steps on foot or for those who love the adventure, the local donkeys is the ideal choice to reach it.

Important note : You should pay 10.00 € more per way either for the cable car ticket or to ride one of the donkeys.

How to reach the starting point if i arrive from a cruise ship?

The cruise’s tender boats leave you at the old Fira port, that is the same location this cruise leaves from.

Upon your return from the excursion, once you disembark from our boat,  finding the tender boat that will take you back to your cruise ship will be uncomplicated, as all the cruise ships’ tents are located close to our office.

What is the fitness level required for this tour?

The excursion involves a lot of physical activities and exposure to high temperature degrees at the volcano hike and quick water temperature shifts at the hot springs, so it is advised to participate in all these exciting activities if you are in a good physical condition.

What should I bring?

  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes (We highly recommend wearing comfortable hiking shoes for the volcano tour, as the steep paths can be challenging to walk on.)
  • Bring a hat, sunglasses & sunscreen
  • You can bring a swimsuit, and a pair of towels for the hot springs. Please refrain from wearing any jewelry during your swim in the hot springs, as the sulfur present in the waters may cause oxidation, as well as white bathing suits as the sulfur can cause color changes.
  • You can bring a camera

What is the cancellation policy?

For a full refund, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the experience’s start time.

If you cancel less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time, the amount you paid will not be refunded. Any changes made less than 24 hours before the experience’s start time will not be accepted.

The tour itself was run professionally, on time, going to all destinations with a fantastic sunset night cruise being the highlight. The food was average with not enough space to eat properly and the dinner location was next to piles of rubbish.

1. Information provided didnt describe the option to swim in multiple locations.so consequently we didnt take bathers or towels – poor description and lack of clarity.

2. There should be an option to stay on the boat and cruise around the island being visited if you dont want to do the volcanic walk

3 full boat fo sails image is very misleading as it was only 10mins of sails up with no sailing

4. French guiide had difficult english to understand.

This activity includes a description that drinks are included in the price of your ticket. This is FALSE. The crew provides wine and water during dinner ONLY. If you want something to drink at any other time during the trip, including water, there is an additional charge. If you plan to hike up the volcano, the crew instructs that a bottle of water is NECESSARY – for which there is an additional charge.

The attractions, swimming, and sunset are of course amazing. However they are equally amazing from other comparably-priced tours that accurately describe what is included.

The tour crew were awesome. I wish the tour description explained that the volcano was 1.5 hrs and you need some endurance to get up there. Also, that for the hot springs the boat docks about 50 meters out and you have to be a strong swimmer to swim to hot springs. No lifejackets are offered to get off the boat only pool noodles. Food was ok. Sunset was stunning.
