Our Meteora One Day Trip from Corfu begins with pick up from your hotel or apartment.
We drive to the port of Lefkimmi and with the local ferry we cross to the mainland (trip duration 1.30 – 2 hours)
Upon arrival we head towards Meteora, an Unesco Heritage Site, for a guided historical and mythical tour of some of the most spectacular cliff top monasteries of the Orthodox faith.
The monasteries, built on top of pure line stone pillars and providing spectacular views over them, were inaccessible for years to the outside world and provided a secluded sanctuary for the monks. Meteora is considered one of the most unique attractions and beautiful areas of mainland Greece.
We visit the Grand Meteoron Monastery, the biggest monastery in Meteora and then we visit an icons’ factory.
After our visit, we have optional lunch in a local restaurant before we head back to the port of Igoumenitsa.

Meteora ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert! Die schwebenden Klöster sind einfach faszinierend!
Die Tour war gut organisiert und man hat auf der Reise sehr viele interessante Informationen erfahren. Zwei Kloster wurden besichtigt und die Führungen wurden auf verschiedenen Sprachen durchgeführt.
Einziger Nachteil für uns war, dass unser Hotel nicht im Einzuggebiet lag und wir selbstständig anreisen mussten. Das Problem dabei war nur, dass wir zu einem der ersten Abholpunkte bestellt wurden und somit noch 1,5 Stunden herumfuhren, um alle Gäste abzuholen. Da wäre es uns lieber gewesen, gleich zur Fähre zu kommen.
Ansonsten eine Top-Veranstaltung!
It’s a must see! The Meteora Monasteries is the most magnificent place I ever seen. There are no cameras that can transfer you the beauty of this place. There are acting churches in the monasteries so I had a chance to leave candles and notes for my beloved ones. We passed amazing views and got plenty of information about them. I would definitely recommend this trip to everyone.
The guide knows very well and tell you stories not only about meteora but also along the way.
The trip was good without any issues and Meteora is an amazing place.
The lady doing the english version of the tour inside the monastery was very knowledgeable about everything regarding the buildings, why the paintings are the way they are and etc…
Attention to the dress code in the monastery, at least up to when we bought the trip there was no information in TripAdvisor‘s offer (ask then via chat if they don’t add it).
Posto splendido ma la guida ha parlato tutto il tempo Russo ed i restanti 8 partecipanti giusto due parole (in inglese che era previsto) nessuno ci ha detto di questa preferenza. La guida si chiamava Natascia quindi consiglio di chiedere chi è l’accompagnatore. Un altro consiglio prendere i panini anziché mangiare dove previsto… cibo tipo mensa a 14 euro al piatto
A parte questo Meteora vale davvero la pena
Très belle excursion, bonne organisation. Voyage long, ferry et plus de 2 heures de route pour l’aller, en toute connaissance de cause vu l’éloignement Notre guide Natalia exceptionnelle. Notre chauffeur Vasilius excellent. Une excursion que je recommande. Le seul bémol est le restaurant dans lequel le guide nous a emmené. Le service est rapide mais le patron un voleur qui pratique des prix élevés et des tarifs des boissons à la tête du client. Je ne suis pas certain que Natalia ai pu s’en rendre compte. Cela peu desservir guide et agence car pour le reste cela a été exceptionnel. Un événement inattendu (durite d’air percée nous a immobilisé sur l’autoroute, très rapidement une solution à été trouvée par Natalia et Vasilius, de l’eau nous a été distribué, un autre bus est arrivé rapidement, un autre ferry a été réservé pour Corfou. Du retard mais rien de grave. Une belle journée bien remplie avec d’excellents souvenirs dans un site exceptionnel , une très bonne organisation avec le sourire malgré l’incident technique.
